Born around 956 in Libice nad Cidlinou, Adalbert, originally named Vojtěch, grew up in a noble family deeply rooted in the Christian faith. He became the Bishop of Prague, where he faced immense challenges in his efforts to spread Christianity. His commitment to his faith led him to leave his position and embark on a journey of missionary work, seeking to convert the Hungarians, Poles, and Prussians. Adalbert was not merely a preacher; he was a pioneer who ventured into uncharted territories, often encountering hostility and resistance.
