As Abdisho languished in captivity, the community appointed Abda as the new bishop. Tragically, he too was soon accused of treason and arrested with a group of fellow Christians, including 28 others and seven virgins. Their resistance to worship the sun god, a demand of their captors, led to severe lashings as they stood united in their faith. The brutal executions began on May 15, 376, as they were beheaded for their beliefs, embodying the ultimate sacrifice for their faith.
